utobus Oberbayern is among Germany’s TOP 100 Innovators in the SME sector. The TOP 100 seal of approval 2026 officially confirms our innovative strength. The award is based on a scientifically supported selection process and does not assess individual products or technologies, but rather a company’s innovation management, innovation culture and ability to successfully turn new approaches into practical solutions.

For us, this award is particular confirmation that innovation does not need to be loudly staged. At Autobus Oberbayern, it emerges from specific requirements, operational experience, openness to technology and the willingness to take new paths.

  • What TOP 100 assesses

    Since 1993, the TOP 100 innovation competition has recognized medium-sized companies with exceptional innovative strength. The selection process considers, among other things, innovation management, innovation climate, processes, organization, external orientation and innovation success. For the 2026 cohort, more than 100 evaluation criteria were analyzed.

    For us, this means the TOP 100 seal of approval is not an award for a single idea. It is proof of quality for the way we work, make decisions and continue to develop as a company.

Examples of our innovation work

One important step is the complete transition of our coach fleet to the alternative fuel HVO100. This enables us to significantly reduce CO₂ emissions and already make a concrete contribution to more sustainable mobility today. For us, HVO100 is a practical solution for immediately and effectively lowering emissions in the coach segment.

Major events cannot be planned according to a one-size-fits-all template. Whether it is a sporting event, concert or trade fair, every project comes with its own requirements, visitor flows, safety considerations and traffic conditions. That is why we work with project groups, scenarios and digital tools such as GPS tracking and real-time data.

Projects such as the European Championships 2022, UEFA EURO 2024 and the Adele concerts at the Munich Exhibition Grounds show just how important flexible management, partner coordination and operational experience are.

We also continuously develop our offerings in the tourism sector. In doing so, we combine decades of operational experience with booking data, market signals and feedback from our sales partners. This results in products that are more precisely tailored to different target groups.

We do not view artificial intelligence and autonomous driving as ends in themselves. We assess technological developments specifically where they can improve processes, relieve employees or create more time for individual customer service. People remain at the center of everything we do, especially in a business built on trust, responsibility and personal care.
